Community Readiness - Tri Ethnic Model -Train the Trainer RFA

In partnership with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS,) Prevention Action Alliance is committed to providing equitable learning opportunities that will empower Ohio’s diverse community coalitions.
The Ohio Coalition Institute and Prevention Action Alliance seek experienced coalition leaders to serve as coaches and facilitators for a statewide training initiative. Coaches will play a vital role in building capacity and providing guidance to coalition members across the state through structured training sessions and ongoing support. This grant opportunity is intended to increase the number and quality of coalition trainers across the state and to support emerging and new coalition leaders as they work to address their specific community’s needs.

What You Will Learn
As a part of this TOT opportunity, you will:
- Understand and be able to teach key CRA concepts and the stages of community readiness.
- Learn and practice clear, compelling language to convey the importance of readiness assessment to stakeholders.
- Become familiar with how to conduct readiness assessments in communities small and large, urban or rural.
- Understand how to make sense of CRA data and translate findings into targeted prevention strategies.
- Learn tactics for targeted approaches to increase community readiness levels.

Answer: Yes - you are encouraged to watch the webinar before applying, but it is not a requirement.
Question: Is this only a Train the Trainer opportunity for Community Readiness?
Answer: Currently, yes. There will be another opportunity for coalition training in early fall of 2025. The date and opportunity will be announced soon! Sign up for our newsletter to stay in the know!
Question: I would like to interact with other coalitions who are doing this work. Is there a way to do that through this opportunity?
Answer: Yes! We hope that our coalitions will "bounce" ideas off each other during the future training that will be offered. We also have the Statewide Prevention Coalition Association (SPCA) (speck-ah), which is FREE to join, participate in open discussions, and learn from one another using the material.
