Communication Training with Prevention Action Alliance, Part 2 (Virtual)

Prevention Action Alliance, with support from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, is hosting a two-part series on communication skills.

Collaboration among meeting attendees, which we used to take for granted in face-to-face situations, has become a challenge in the virtual and hybrid environments that we now find ourselves in. Miscommunication, isolation, and frustration have set in. This is especially true when people choose to be off camera. These concerns are brought into sharper focus when leaders try to create an inclusive working environment where everyone feels welcome and heard.

In this virtual session, we’ll examine leadership communication and what it means to show up for others and be a role model by facilitating inclusive meetings that work for everyone.

Successful attendees will learn how to:
• Be intentional about your professional brand and how you show up for others
• Nurture relationships while navigating virtual, in-person, and hybrid environments
• Facilitate inclusive meetings and avoid unintended micro-aggressions

This training will offer 1.5 hours of continuing education for prevention specialists credentialed through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
