The Statewide Prevention Coalition Association meets Tuesday, November 21st, at Prevention Action Alliance, 6171 Huntley Road, Suite G, Columbus, OH 43229 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Theme for November: Advocacy: Yes, You Can Do It! Community-based Transformation Through Effective Activism.
Coalitions will receive training on the difference between lobbying and advocacy. And how to utilize members, youth, and partners in the process. Participants will be given a chance to network with experienced coalitions in advocacy and local promotion activities. This meeting will also provide additional insight for groups attending the CADCA Forum in February 2018, or those planning to participate in SPCA’s Joint Legislative day with the Ohio Youth Led Prevention Network (TBA, March). Specific agenda points will be available on the website closer to the event.
To register, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, your coalition name, and whether you will be having pizza and salad for lunch. Lunch is $5 at the door per person. For those wishing to make alternate lunch plans, lunch will take place from approximately 12-12:30 pm. A typical SPCA meeting provides 3.5-4.0 hours of Continuing Education for prevention professionals.
