SPCA Annual Meeting (Virtual)
Featured Speaker:
Dr. Amy Acton
Dr. Acton will be presenting “The Leader We Wish We All Had IS YOU,” and will be anchored in an op-ed done about her by the New York Times. This presentation will focus on the leadership and lessons learned while serving as Director of the Ohio Department of Health and as a cabinet member and advisory to Gov. DeWine. Including a behind-the-scenes look at what it was like to lead the COVID-19 emergency response, her presentation will also discuss the challenges of prevention and how we have endured a contagion of fear and collective trauma. Additionally, Dr. Acton will be taking questions after the presentation, so come prepared!
We are very excited to welcome Dr. Acton and interested professionals to join us at the SPCA Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 14, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the key attributes of classical crisis risk communications for leaders during a global pandemic or other crisis scenario.
- Articulate three key leadership traits to consider adding to the modern leadership toolbox.
- Understand the history behind the “Pandemic Playbook” and Ohio’s early pandemic response and consider how lessons learned might inform future pandemic responses in a more holistic, preventive, and trauma-informed manner.
