To encourage youth and support strong families and communities, try incorporating the Guiding Growth tips below into your daily routine

Practical Principle: Sense of Purpose

Young person reports that “my life has a purpose.”

Guiding Growths

  • Model a strong sense of purpose for your child(ren). Have personal conversations with your son or daughter and tell them about what gets you up in the morning and why it’s important to you. Hearing your motivation will cultivate theirs.
  • Have your son or daughter write letters to their future selves; two months, six months and 12 months in the future. Have them answer questions like “If everything goes as you want it to, what will you be doing?” and then help nurture any and every spark that comes from the project.
