Building Stronger Coalitions: The Ohio Coalition Development Centerās Role in Statewide Success
At Prevention Action Alliance (PAA), we recognize the many responsibilities coalition leaders juggleāreporting, membership, community engagement, retention planning, meetings, prevention frameworks, information dissemination, sustainability, and social media. Managing these demands can feel overwhelming.
In response to feedback from Ohio coalition leaders and members, and with support from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, weāve developed a coalition-centered system designed to provide meaningful support.
Through OCDC, coalition leaders will have access to:
- Experienced coaches and trainers for guidance and mentorship
- Peer-to-peer learning through SPCA meetings
- On-demand learning modules covering coalition-specific topics
This new system is built to strengthen coalitions by providing the resources and connections needed to thrive.
SPCA is a membership-based organization dedicated to fostering collaboration and connectivity among coalitions across the state. It serves as a hub for coalition support, solidarity, and collective problem-solving to address shared challenges.
The Ohio Coalition Institute, on the other hand, focuses on education, training, and resources for coalitions at every stage of development. Whether you are building a new coalition or strengthening an established one, the OCI is your go-to for expert guidance, mentoring/ coaching, and support.
As the Ohio Coalition Institute is further developed and aligns its efforts with SPCAās work, a more unified approach to empowering coalitions throughout Ohio will be created with support for coalitions to grow, thrive, and succeed.
