Prescription Drugs and You Fact Cards
Prescription Drugs and You is a public health awareness campaign by Prevention Action Alliance. The tagline, “Everyone has a role in prevention,” emphasizes our collective responsibility to safely use, secure, and dispose of prescription drugs. This campaign gives you the resources you need to raise awareness about the risks of prescription drug misuse as well as the behaviors needed to reduce those risks. It supports the protective factors in your community and provides opportunities to build awareness of your organization.
The Prescription Drugs and You fact cards raise awareness about the importance of prescription drug safety. They remind community members of the importance of knowing what’s in your medicine cabinet, securing medicines away from children and pets, and disposing of old or expired medicines. They’re an effective handout for reminding people of the key messages of your prescription drug safety campaign. Each pack includes the same facts but four different graphics to provide differentiation for your campaign. There are 25 fact cards for each of the four graphics for a total of 100 fact cards per pack.
These fact cards can be given out at community fairs, health fairs, resource fairs, at doctors’ and pediatricians’ offices, at pharmacies, at parent-teacher nights, forums, presentations, and anywhere people gather or interact with healthcare services. You can work with volunteers and members of the community to distribute these fact cards. They pair well with the Prescription Drugs and You posters, which reinforce the same messages, and the Prescription Drugs and You booklets, which go into more depth.
