Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD)

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) refers to the range of effects that can occur in an individual who was exposed to alcohol during pregnancy. These effects vary from person to person and may include low birthweight, heart defects, growth problems with brain development, and the central nervous system. These can result in a number of syndromes and disorders, collectively grouped together as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.

FASD Prevention Hub

As a member of Ohio’s FASD Steering Committee, Prevention Action Alliance is proud to share the FASD Prevention Hub as part of a collective effort to build awareness and strengthen prevention across the lifespan. Increasing public understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is critical across the Continuum of Care.

Through the Steering Committee, a range of toolkits, peer support materials, and other resources have been developed to help professionals and community members prevent FASD, as well as identify, treat, and support individuals living with FASD.

All resources in the Hub are available for download, printing, and digital sharing to support education and outreach in your community.
