Learn More About The Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship

The Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship honors the life of Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak, a bright young woman who lost her life in a car crash caused by a driver under the influence of cannabis. Jennifer, a standout lacrosse player and graduate with a degree in Intelligence and Analysis Research, was just starting her career when the accident occurred. In her memory, Jennifer’s mother, Corinne LaMarca, created this scholarship to support students working to make the world a safer and healthier place.

Learn About the 2026 Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Scholarship Recipient

Walsh University student Sydney Fetherolf has been named the 2026 recipient of the Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak—a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Intelligence and Analysis Research and a standout lacrosse player who aspired to combat illegal drug trafficking. Jennifer’s promising future was tragically cut short when she lost her life in a crash caused by a cannabis-impaired driver.

Established by Jennifer’s mother, Corinne LaMarca, the scholarship supports rising juniors and seniors in Ohio pursuing degrees in prevention, public health, criminal justice, or related fields. Recipients must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to societal impact—qualities that Sydney exemplifies. Currently pursuing a triple major in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Psychology, Sydney is also a dedicated member of the Walsh University Women’s Lacrosse team and the prestigious Blouin Scholars program.

“Sydney represents the exact kind of hard-working and dedicated leader this scholarship was created to support,” said LaMarca. “Like Jennifer, Sydney shares a passion for lacrosse and a deep commitment to seeking justice. It is incredibly meaningful to see Jennifer's legacy of service and her vibrant spirit continue through Sydney’s impressive work and character.”
Sydney’s commitment to service is evident through her role as a Blouin Scholar, where she researches the intersection of aging, poverty, and the criminal justice system in Stark County. Her passion for helping those affected by addiction led her to volunteer with South Street Ministries in Akron, where she supports individuals in their journey toward sobriety. Furthermore, she gained critical professional insight into the legal system through an internship with the Union County Sheriff’s Office, where she trained in investigations, court processes, and emergency response.
