Twenty-two local Ohio communities receive grants totaling $36,000 to impact underage drinking through the Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking public awareness campaign.
This campaign was developed by substance prevention agency Drug-Free Action Alliance in 2000, is being replicated nationwide and in other countries and is designed to reduce the number of parent-hosted teen alcohol parties at the local and state level. Parents Who Host, Lose The Most: Don’t be a party to teenage drinking is a year-round initiative, with a focus on prom and graduation seasons; as these are well-known times of increased teen alcohol parties.
With 2012 Campaign Spokesperson Clark Kellogg (CBS college basketball commentator and former NBA and basketball superstar) at the helm, this campaign exists to educate parents about the health and safety risks of allowing underage drinking to occur and to increase awareness of and compliance with Ohio’s Underage Drinking Laws.
The Parents Who Host, Lose The Most, Don’t be a party to teenage drinking campaign is made available by support from the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
