Columbus, OH [6.3.2026] - Walsh University student Sydney Fetherolf has been named the 2026 recipient of the Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak—a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Intelligence and Analysis Research and a standout lacrosse player who aspired to combat illegal drug trafficking. Jennifer’s promising future was tragically cut short when she lost her life in a crash caused by a cannabis-impaired driver.
Established by Jennifer’s mother, Corinne LaMarca, the scholarship supports rising juniors and seniors in Ohio pursuing degrees in prevention, public health, criminal justice, or related fields. Recipients must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to societal impact—qualities that Sydney exemplifies. Currently pursuing a triple major in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Psychology, Sydney is also a dedicated member of the Walsh University Women’s Lacrosse team and the prestigious Blouin Scholars program.
“Sydney represents the exact kind of hard-working and dedicated leader this scholarship was created to support,” said LaMarca. “Like Jennifer, Sydney shares a passion for lacrosse and a deep commitment to seeking justice. It is incredibly meaningful to see Jennifer's legacy of service and her vibrant spirit continue through Sydney’s impressive work and character.”
“It's an honor to be selected as the recipient! I felt that a lot of my story and work resonated with [Jennifer's] work and legacy. It will be my honor to take this scholarship and carry on her ambition."
The Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship provides financial support directly toward tuition and fees, ensuring students like Sydney can continue their education and community impact. Sydney was formally recognized at a special luncheon at Powell, Ohio, on May 27, 2026.
Through this scholarship, Jennifer’s memory lives on—inspiring the next generation of leaders dedicated to creating safer, healthier communities across Ohio and beyond.
