Strengthening Your Foundation: Collaborating Across Systems for Sustainable Prevention
Hosted by Great Lakes PTTC
Join Great Lakes PTTC for this training on cross-system prevention collaboration, designed to help experienced substance use prevention professionals move beyond traditional capacity-building and sector-based partnerships. Rather than focusing on who to partner with, we’ll explore how prevention can be embedded within complex, often unfamiliar systems such as healthcare, mental health, education, business, and civic institutions.
Through real-world examples and peer discussion in breakout rooms, this training emphasizes moving from transactional partnerships to systemic influence—infusing a culture of prevention into the systems that shape community health.
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze complex systems to identify leverage points, key influencers, and opportunities to embed prevention beyond traditional partnerships.
- Apply advanced engagement strategies for entering unfamiliar systems.
- Design cross-system approaches that support sustainability, including strategies for braiding funding, sharing resources, and infusing prevention principles into existing system structures and practices.
