Practical Principle: Reading for Pleasure

Young person reads for pleasure three or more hours per week.

Guiding Growths

  • Reading, whether a classic novel or a magazine, supports academic development and personal interest. Encourage your child(ren) to read regularly for fun and watch their passions grow.
  • To inspire reading, host a family book club. Choose age appropriate works of literature and have weekly conversations about characters, the plot, or how each member of the family interpreted the story.
