Practical Principle 3: Other Adult Relationships

To encourage youth and support strong families and communities, try incorporating the Guiding Growth tips below into your daily routine

Practical Principle: Other Adult Relationships

Young person receives support from three or more non-parent adults.

Guiding Growths

  • Parents should introduce their child(ren) to other safe and trustworthy adults in the community that the young person can approach if they have a question or concern that they want to talk about (i.e. teachers, coaches, faith leaders, etc.)
  • Parents need to have time away from their child(ren). Time away gives you a break and allows you to dedicate time to yourself, your partner, and to best plan for your family in times of chaos or calm. Personal time is vital to family management and happiness.
