Practical Principle: Caring School Climate

School provides a caring, encouraging environment.

Guiding Growths

  • E-mail your child’s principal, teacher or school counselor and ask that they promote social-emotional learning in daily communications (possible topics: stress management, mindfulness, or how to cope with at-home learning).
  • Tap into your inner child and have gym class in the living room or art class at the kitchen table. Physical activity helps children burn off excess energy, and creativity allows for expression and explanation of fears and anxieties.
