Guiding Growths
- Use popular or recognizable figures to have family conversations about inequality. Talk about prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination, and help your child(ren) understand privilege and the role they can play to reduce stigma and foster love and acceptance.
- Create “Who’s Different Wednesdays” at your house and each week have a family member do a five-minute Ted Talk about someone different from them. The person could be famous, or a neighbor, or a friend. Make sure each person highlights the value of and praises the benefits of any difference discussed.
