To encourage youth and support strong families and communities, try incorporating the Guiding Growth tips below into your daily routine
Practical Principle: Service to Other
Young person serves in the community one hour or more per week.
Guiding Growths
- Even with physical distancing and stay-at-home orders in place, community service can continue. As a family, you can write letters to senior citizens who are not currently able to have guests, send notes to service professionals (doctors, mail carriers, etc.) or deliver a box of non-perishable food items to a local food pantry.
- If you cannot or do not want to leave the house, take the opportunity to have a child, youth, or young person positively impact the household community by leading a basement clean up, coordinating a bedroom remodel, or designing a landscaping plan for the front yard.
