Practical Principle: Parent Involvement in Schooling

Parent(s) are actively involved in helping young person succeed in school.

Guiding Growths

  • Become your child’s temporary teacher. You can use the internet to access many evidence-based curriculums like Project ALERT and help your child understand the impacts of substance use, abuse, and addiction.
  • Since children are not able to learn in a traditional school environment, establish an online learning co-op with your neighbors, family, and friends. Engage other adults in your child’s life and let them be the “teacher.”
