COLUMBUS, OHIO — Today Governor John R. Kasich announced today appointments to the Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee for terms beginning September 23, 2016 and continuing at the pleasure of the governor.
The committee will develop and submit recommendations related to the Medical Marijuana Control Program and the implementation and enforcement of the related Ohio Revised Code.
The committee members are Curtis L. Passafume, Jr., R.Ph. (Chair) of Hilliard, Stephanie M. Abel, Pharm.D. of Dublin, Tony E. Coder, Jr. of Mount Gilead, Michael G. Hirsch of Chillicothe, Dr. Jerry W. Mitchell, Jr. of Powell, Dr. Amol Soin of Xenia, Michael E. Stanek of Avon Lake, and Gary L. Wenk, Ph.D. of Columbus have been appointed to the Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee for terms beginning September 23, 2016 and continuing at the pleasure of the Governor.
“Serving on this committee is not only a great honor but a tremendous responsibility,” said Coder, who serves as the assistant director of the Drug Free Action Alliance. “As a committee member, I hope to do my best to protect our state’s residents and youth and promote safe and healthy communities.” While on the committee, Coder hopes to promote a robust public health policy, keep marijuana out of the hands of children and adults without recommendations and educate Ohioans about the effects of
marijuana.
“I cannot think of anyone better suited to serve on this committee,” said Marcie Seidel, DFAA’s executive director. “As a leader of our advocacy efforts, Tony has become a state, national, and internationally recognized expert on the importance of a sound marijuana policy.
