Capacity for Prevention Stipend
The Capacity for Prevention stipend provides an opportunity for community organizations to enhance prevention capacity in their communities. These grants are intended to increase the number and quality of prevention strategies used in your community and foster innovative approaches to promoting a prevention message. The focus of these stipends will be on addressing substance use, problem gambling, suicide, or other behavioral health prevention efforts.
A total of $75,000 is dedicated to this project. Applicants may only submit ONE project application for up to a $5,000 stipend.

Question: Where can I register for the Q and A Webinar?
Answer: You can find registration on the Prevention Action Alliance web page under the important dates section. Website: https://preventionactionalliance.org/capacityforprevention/
Question: For the Capacity for Prevention funding, can these funds be used for student employee costs?
Answer: Yes, funds can be used for personnel so long as they are directly connected to the creation, implementation, or evaluation of the intervention.
Question: Are we able to have the previous years' awardees proposals and project information?
Answer: At this time, Prevention Action Alliance will not be sharing previous applications.
Question: Are there any funding priorities for this grant?
Answer: There are no priorities for the grant aside from building capacity within your community. Some examples of funding utilization are:
a. Promoting prevention within your community.
b. Enhancing partnerships with various community sectors.
c. Assessment activities related to environmental scanning.
d. Engaging community leaders and stakeholders in prevention planning e. Building capacity for virtual prevention through the use of technology.
Question: Is there a character limit on the application questions?
Answer: No, there is no character limit.
Question: Are you limited to one proposal?
Answer: Yes, applicants can only submit once for the funding opportunity.
Question: If you are purchasing a subscription for students, but they won’t be able to use it immediately, can you still apply?
Answer: Yes, so long as your budget clearly outlines how funding will be utilized, and reporting of your intervention is accurate.
Question: Is this stipend open to Indiana programs in public schools?
Answer: The Capacity for Prevention Funds can only be utilized inside the state of Ohio.
